Weekend Writing Warriors, March 17

Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Top o’ the morning to ye, and all that stuff. As promised, today I’m switching away from Melting the Millionaire’s Heart and moving on to a manuscript I’m currently shopping around. It’s tentatively called Nice Work if You Can Get It and concerns a workaholic, bitter divorced hero and a heroine out to reclaim her life after years spent tending an ailing grandmother. Andrew and Allie meet in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico and embark on a vacation fling. Allie realizes she’s falling for Andrew, which jeopardizes her intention of putting herself and her goals first for a change. She has to let him go:

“I forgot what I came to Mexico to do.” She reached out to him but froze before she touched him. His expression told her he wouldn’t welcome her touch.
“What did you come to do? Get laid?”
“Andrew, no.”
“That’s good, because that one was mission accomplished, if you ask me.”

Oh, Andrew is an angry, bitter man, but I love him so. For more WeWriWa goodness, go here.
And just for fun, I’ve posted a longer excerpt here of a current work-in-progress, tentatively titled The Mason Dixon Line. Enjoy!

About Linda Morris

Linda Morris is a multipublished writer of contemporary and historical romance. She writes stories with heart and heat, and a joke or two thrown in. When she's not writing, working, or mommying, she's doing yoga, reading, working in her flower garden, or baking delicious things she probably shouldn't eat. A beat-up old copy of Kathleen Woodiwiss's "Ashes in the Wind" that her mom bought for her at a garage sale years ago was her "gateway drug" into the world of romance novels. Her all-time favorite romance writers include Laura Kinsale, Patricia Gaffney, Elizabeth Delancey, and Marjorie Ferrell. Current favorites include Julie Anne Long, Erin McCarthy, and Shannon McKenna.

Oh, like he was looking for a relationship? Maybe he should give the girl a chance to explain what she means. Relax, Andrew! Not everyone is your ex.
