The Mason Dixon Line, New Adult, Contemporary Romance Snippet

masondixonfinalKindle

Happy Sunday! Welcome to another snippet from The Mason Dixon Line, now available at Amazon. This snippet picks up shortly after last week’s where the heroine is struggling with her shopping addiction. She’s talking things over with the hero, Mason, after nearly falling off of the wagon again. She speaks first:

“I’ve tried to do it my way, but it didn’t work. I thought I was making some strides, but at the first sign of pressure, I cracked. I almost bought a cashmere scarf from the TV tonight. And a vibrator.”
His eyes widened. “Well, let’s not be hasty. You can’t give up all shopping, you know.”
“You think I should have bought the scarf?” She raised a brow, all innocence.

The Mason Dixon Line is available for the Kindle here. (More platforms coming in 90 days.) For more great Snippet Sunday excerpts, go here. And to keep informed on future releases, feel free to Like my author page on Facebook.

About Linda Morris

Linda Morris is a multipublished writer of contemporary and historical romance. She writes stories with heart and heat, and a joke or two thrown in. When she's not writing, working, or mommying, she's doing yoga, reading, working in her flower garden, or baking delicious things she probably shouldn't eat. A beat-up old copy of Kathleen Woodiwiss's "Ashes in the Wind" that her mom bought for her at a garage sale years ago was her "gateway drug" into the world of romance novels. Her all-time favorite romance writers include Laura Kinsale, Patricia Gaffney, Elizabeth Delancey, and Marjorie Ferrell. Current favorites include Julie Anne Long, Erin McCarthy, and Shannon McKenna.

  1. He shouldn’t really be encouraging her.

Is it wrong that the first thing I thought was, “No. Both!” 😀

And is it a good sign that our heroine can joke about this now? Or is this a deflection from what she might have done after last week’s snippet?

Never mind—I’m going to buy it right now! 🙂

I think Mason should buy it for her, as a reward for resisting the urge.

(I mean the scarf, of course. He should totally buy her the scarf…)

  5. It would be nice of him to buy the scarf–and no, she shouldn’t resist him, I mean, all shopping. A girl has to have food in the house. Nice snippet!
